Throw out those bathroom scales!

What if I told you that there’s no point to watching your weight?

If you’re one who hops on the bathroom scales every day or every week and sighs in despair when the hard work you’ve done doesn’t reflect in the weight loss that you’re aiming or working hard for, then you will get this.

Marchini Nutrition understands that weight is not the bottom-line for health improvement. Research evidence tells us that if people have a healthy diet and are physically active then their weight is not an indication of poorer health outcomes, and shape change does occur even with minimal weight loss. So, we’ve invested in the latest state-of-the-art, medically approved body composition analysis machine so that you can see what your body is made up of and how it’s changing with your diet and lifestyle  over time.

If not weight, then what?

From a dietitian’s perspective we’d like to see an increase in your protein, minerals and water (all which actually increase your weight) and a decrease in the fat surrounding your internal organs (your visceral fat).

This will help to increase your basal metabolic rate, or the amount of energy your body needs while it’s at rest, so that your body can work more efficiently for you and help to keep you well. We can help you to achieve this.

What is your body made up of?

This new body composition analysis machine measures all this type of information! It passes a very mild and harmless electric current through eight points of your body (you can’t even feel it!) to determine how and where your body is composed of:

  • Protein, for muscle growth

  • Your skeletal muscle mass

  • Minerals, for bone strength

  • Water, for hydration

  • Fat, for protection and energy storage

  • Visceral fat, the dangerous fat around your abdominal organs

  • Your basal metabolic rate

  • And a whole lot more!

What does an assessment involve?

For only $50 you can book in at Marchini Nutrition for a 15 minute consultation that includes:

  • A body composition assessment on the state of the art InBody270 machine

  • An analysis fact sheet

  • An interpretation guide

  • And a brief dietetic consultation

And, your health insurance may allow you to claim using HICAPs.

We also offer packages of 6 scans for the price of 4 for those who are embarking on a health kick and who need to check their progress along the way. Just ask when you book.

What can you do with your results?

The results from your body composition assessment can be used to establish your baseline, set realistic goals, identify risks, personalise your nutrition program or exercise regime and to evaluate how well these are working for you.

It's also great to know that you are burning the unwanted fat, and not upsetting your protein, muscle mass, hydration or mineral levels in the process.

The InBody270 allows you, your dietitian or your personal trainer to regularly monitor your level of body fat, skeletal muscle mass and muscular development so you can understand how your diet, lifestyle and training are influencing your overall body composition and health.

So what are you waiting for?

Call today to book your 15 minute body composition consultation. We’re looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours in good health, Sally.
